"Requiem for Winter" is that remembrance, a bittersweet eulogy for all the distance traveled so far and a marching paean for the distance still to go. Like the death of winter giving way to the birth of a new year, crossing a threshold is both an end and another beginning. Requiem for Winter expresses a new type of resolve, one that moves forward without either apprehension or naïveté, accepting both hopes and doubts and carrying them anyway.
